Claire Elizabeth Terry is a British writer and filmmaker based in Barcelona, Spain — and a descendant of Dame Ellen Terry, the Victorian actress widely regarded as the first international theatre superstar. Trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, she went on to become the first female stagehand at the Royal National Theatre before embarking on a writing career that spans fiction, film, and cultural programming.

Her work includes The Art of Living (2008), a collaborative book with contributions from the Dalai Lama, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Desmond Tutu; the award-winning short film Thirty Minutes (2020); and the Rocaberti Writers' Retreats, the residential screenwriting programme she founded in 2016, held in historic European castles and recognised by both American Express and Kirkus Reviews.

She is currently developing a feature film based on her novel Fall.

“A collection of profound and inspiring philosophical texts... that help us understand in a simple way the new paradigm of global humanism.”

"Six years ago, I knew no one in the film industry, and going from being a writer on my own to having recently written and directed a movie has been a steep learning curve. If I can do it, anyone can."
